Midnight

I lie awake,
Blankly staring at nothing.
My mind tells me I'm tired,
But my heart keeps it busy.

I long to forget today,
Go back to yesterday,
But the time has passed,
The mistakes were made.

I can never go back.
I will never be the same.
Tomorrow I will pay,
But right now, I must sleep.
